Why don’t you read the data sheet regarding capacitance on the LM? I am assuming you have the 5. Should I follow datasheet with ceramic caps?
I didn’t ask about where it’s located. It clearly says that a minimum ESR corresponding to a kHz pole is required.
You show tantalums, lm184 are no problem in that respect since they have an acceptable range of ESR but if you get the urge to replace the output capacitor with a ceramic type perhaps because you experience an unfortunate but typical ‘ignition’ event with a tantalums at high available current you may have to add resistance in series read the data sheet carefully- Lm11084 scanned it and saw insufficient information.
If so, the recommended capacitors for most of the applications, according to the datasheet pagesare: All the circuit diagrams in the datasheet seem to be for the adjustable configurations.
Or better I just go and buy car cigarette usb adapter and not make any fancy and large things? L,1084 up using Facebook. It will help remove input transients and noise.
You really need to read the datasheet, not just skim it for schematics. And without load it’s 4. Add a 47uF or bigger Aluminum electrolytic capacitor. So, you are perfectly OK with a bulk uF electrolytic capacitor at the output.

Please, Can you say where exactly place what caps and what resistors? I’m looking for 5V, 5A.
I don’t have these. Now I’m using values frommy bad. For a detailed explanation on this and other related topics, though probably much more than you may be interested in, you can check the excellent “Input and output capacitor selection” Application Report, from Texas Instruments.
lm10884 CatsLoveJazz Yes, and like most LDOs you need them and they have to be of the correct type to ensure stability, otherwise the regulator can turn into an oscillator. Take a known toroid and a decent gauge magnet wire, and get to winding.
I am building a circuit using a fixed 5V LM If the capacitor has very low ESR such as a ceramic type, you can just add an appropriate series resistor.
ConnorWolf I’ve found it. But car adapters usually use MC in surface mount. The LM is available in 3. Spehro Pefhany k 4
